Gather up the family and friends and tell them to bring their appetites to Taste of Hedden on Thursday, March 23, 6-8 p.m. at Hedden Elementary School. Hosted by the Hedden PTA and fashioned in the style of Taste of Tacoma, Bite of Seattle and other such popular food festivals, Taste of Hedden will feature offerings from restaurants in the Fife/Milton/Edgewood area to showcase what is available right here at home with free samples and/or small plates for $3 and under.
“We want to keep it local and community focused,” said Hedden PTA Board Member Jessica Connaway, who is taking the lead on organizing monthly socials like this one for March. “We’re trying our best to bring the community and families through our doors at Hedden Elementary.”
A few of the vendors who have signed on so far include:
“We want to remind the community what the F/M/E area has to offer, so we are asking local restaurants to set up shop in our Hedden Gym,” Connaway said, noting that this evening event will include raffles, coupon giveaways and live entertainment.
“My goal is to make this an annual event to keep showing off new restaurants or businesses and have fun with it year after year. Our PTA is working hard on getting the word out to all our local schools and marketing as much as we can.”
