Deep in South Tacoma at 8217 S. Hosmer St. sits one of Tacoma’s many treasures, the Great Wall Chinese Buffet. The restaurant has been a favorite in the community for many years and manager Nicholas Walker credits the restaurant’s dedication to finding the highest quality food for the cheapest prices.
“We’re always shopping around, looking for the best deal to benefit the customer,” he said. “And if we find something cheap, we ask ‘why is it so cheap?’ We look into it to make sure we are serving the customer.”
Food at the restaurant includes classic Chinese fare as well as a full sushi bar. Other items include fresh fruit and various types of soups. With more than 100 different dishes, the sheer amount of options at the buffet is sure to satisfy the appetite of regulars and newcomers alike.
“We try and change up the food pretty frequently. If it’s always the same, people can get tired of it, “ Walker said.
The restaurant offers plenty of space for groups big and small, making the Great Wall Chinese Buffet ideal for business meetings or casual get-togethers. Different days of the week means unique meals at the restaurant, ensuring you can get something new every time you go, including all you can eat lobster for $14.50 on Sundays and spicy seafood combinations on Monday and Wednesday. Walker and his crew are always dedicated to having a variety of options for any hungry patron. And if you’re looking for some drinks, Great Wall also has a selection of beer and wine.
