What are some top issues for your city that you would like to address as a member of city council?
1. 2016 Budget, with the closing of Haggen and across the street with the empty retail stores in the Safeway shopping center.
2, Water Storage Asset Management. I feel the city needs to be ahead on management of our water resource and storage.
How are you qualified to champion these issues?
I do my research and investigation on issues brought to the city council, either by citizens or staff generated through the mayor's office
How do you see yourself working, or at odds, with the other members of the council?
In my short tenure on the council, I have not always voted along with the senior council. I always think about what do the citizens want the council to do to represent them, especially as it relates to fiscal responsibility with public funds.
What else should voters know about you?
I have an B.S. in Public Affairs from Indiana University and a M.Ed. from George Mason University. I am a 2003 transplant from the Outer Banks of North Carolina to this wonderful City of Milton. I have worked in the Registrar's Office at Pacific Lutheran University since 2004. I began my civic service with the City of Milton by serving on the Parks Board and the Events Committee. On the Events Committee, I was interim chair and managed the parade. I am happily married to Thomas Johnson and our family consists of three dogs. I believe in Open Government and fiscal responsibility so that the level of taxes may be kept within a reasonable rate for our residents. I believe Neighbor to Neighbor Makes a Community
