Businesses on display at Fife History Museum

Along with Fife’s rich and colorful history is a long tradition of businesses, both big and small. The Fife History Museum is celebrating commerce in Fife in a new exhibit, and businesses are invited to participate.

So far, nine businesses have contributed their stories and photos to the museum. Some of the businesses have histories that go back to – or even before – the incorporation of the city, such as the Poodle Dog restaurant and the Pick Quick Drive-In. Others are newer additions, but nonetheless important to the city and its residents – Rushforth Construction, for example, and Murray’s Disposal Company, Inc.

Each business was asked to write a brief description and history of its work in Fife and to indicate interesting tidbits, such as the number of Fife High School graduates it employs and the benefits of the business in Fife. Businesses were also asked to submit framed photos.

The Fife History Museum is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The Businesses of Fife exhibit will be on display through August 2008.
