JAIMIE MCFARLAND ON THE MEDAL STAND FOR FIFE.
Jaimie McFarland capped a great career at Fife by finishing third in the 2A 800-meter run in a time of 2.21.29, giving the Trojans their only points of the day on the girls side with six. Coach Brian Meyer reflected on the career of Jaimie McFarland:
“She came in as a sophomore and assumed a leadership role real quick. Early on, she started to compete in the one and two mile runs to build up endurance. Jaimie got into the 800 meters as a junior and by the time her senior year rolled around she competed in and finished fifth in the mile and won the 800 meters in school record time at the W.C.D.” Lithcomb College in Nashville took notice, and Jaimie will compete there for the next four years. Meyer said he hates to see her go, but knows that she will do well at the next level. “Her will to win and her ability to excel at anything she does will carry her a long way, I have no doubt she’ll do great all four years that she competes at Lithcomb.”
