The former site of Couch’s Furniture in Fife has been transformed into a new Anderson Appliance store. The Fife Regional Chamber of Commerce welcomed the new business with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on March 5, followed by an open house in the store’s showroom. Various members from the community, including Fife City Councilmember Rob Cerqui, were in attendance at the ceremony to help owners Gary and Terry Anderson celebrate.
The Andersons expressed their excitement about their new location in Fife. They have another, larger appliance store in Mt. Vernon. Terry said they decided to take over the site after the former business announced it would be closing late last year. They also managed to hire seven former Couch’s Furniture employees as sales representatives and managers.
Gary Anderson has been in the home appliance business for 31 years and said he takes pride in his expertise and sales philosophy.
“We are ordinary, real people selling to ordinary, real people,” he said. “We are different from the big box stores, because it’s all about the customer here.”
Terry Anderson said they were able to meet several of their business neighbors during their introduction into the community.
“We are very happy because the people around the community have been really terrific,” she said.
