Walt’s Auto Care Center and the city of Fife will co-host the third annual “Walt’s Family Affair” vintage car show at Dacca Park on June 27. The show attracts car enthusiasts from around the state and also features vendor and food booths.
This year, show organizers will give away cash prizes for the top three placing car club participants.
Walt Kaplin, co-planner and Walt’s Auto Care Center employee, said the pairing of Fife and the Auto Care Center is a natural and mutually beneficial match.
“I believe that this car show will bring much attention to the amenities of Fife, and has the potential to be a great tourist attraction and annual event,” Kaplin said. Kaplin’s name and the name of the show are pure coincidence.
Owners of street rods, classics, customs, antiques and Harleys are all invited to participate in the show, as well as car care vendors and food booth operators. A minimal fee will apply to commercial vendors. Kaplin expects city officials will be on hand to distribute the many awards, ranging from Northwest Club Fellowship Award to Chief of Police Award.
Laurel Potter, Fife’s marketing coordinator, said event attendees should expect more than just a car show.
“Walt has helped to make the event a success since it began,” Potter said. “Visitors can play games and door prizes, or they can also stop by our museum, get a bite to eat or play in the park.”
Those who wish to participate as a commercial vendor should contact Potter, at (253) 255-4727 or . Car participants and vendors may contact Kaplin at (253) 858-8739. The Family Affair car show is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 27 at Dacca Park, 2820 54th Ave, E. in Fife.
